(nee Voorhees) DOVER - Lynda A. Barrett (nee Voorhees) passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2015. Lynda was born in Trenton, N.J. and was raised in Mt. Holly, N.J., a graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School. She was one of six siblings, the only girl. After marrying David Cooper, Lynda raised two beautiful kids, Tim Cooper (Emory Ship) and Erin Bittenbender (Carl). Lynda was a successful business owner in Dover, and turned her passion for nature into a career operating Lynda's Custom Landscape and Design, creating wonderful landscapes for loyal clients, many who grew to be friends. Lynda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, creating beautiful artwork, enjoying nature, and yoga, but most important to her were her grandkids Teio, Avery, Skye and Gavin. Lynda never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandkids! Lynda had a zest for life that was contagious and always had a smile on her face. She chose not to have a funeral, but instead have a Celebration of Life party where everyone could share memories and laughs. She was able to have that celebration with friends and family and, in true Lynda fashion, passed away peacefully shortly after the celebration ended, surrounded by her loved ones. She was loved and is survived by her parents, Robert and Eleanor; and her brothers, Neil, Ricky (wife Phyllis), Mark, and Kevin (with Robin). She was predeceased by her brother, Phillip (wife Suzi). Lynda also leaves behind many loving nephews and nieces. Lynda received the loving care of her family and friends during her courageous fight with cancer. Lynda's passions in life are encapsulated and supported by an organization called Commonweal. Commonweal works in three core fields-health and healing, art and education, and environment and justice. If you would like to honor Lynda and make a donation, we ask that you do so in her name to Commonweal.org or to Commonweal, P.O. Box 316, Bolinas, CA 94924.
