Lucinda 'Cindi' Marie Boyer, 61
FELTON, Del. - Lucinda "Cindi" Marie Boyer was reassigned to Heaven on Friday, March 11, 2022, after 61 years of service as an angel on Earth. She flew free from Kent General Hospital peacefully, with the blessing and support of loving family at her side, to reunite with her father, James Fred Evins, Jr. and her mother, Alma Marie Hines.
Cindi's first role was that of a devoted daughter and a cherished sister to her brothers, Fred, Sammy, and Danny, and her sisters, Joyce, Norma Jean, and Theressia. In her early years, Cindi loved to write stories and listen to music. She amassed an impressive record collection, including cuts from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Lynyrd Skynyrd. She also had a special place in her heart for David Bowie, whom she established a lifelong fondness of. She was a proud graduate of Lake Forest High School.
Her next great endeavor began when she exchanged wedding vows with Franklin Joseph Boyer, the love of her life, when the two were just 17 & 18 years old. Cindi and Frank held fast to one another throughout 42 amazing years, defying the odds to create a beautiful life together. Through good times and bad, Cindi and Frank remained unwaveringly committed to one another. Together, they truly exemplified what marriage should be-a promise built on love that lasts for eternity.
Speaking of love, Cindi was full of so much love that she just had to share. She shared much of her heart through becoming a mother to sons Joe, Chuck, Brandon, and Ryan, and daughters Brittany and Becca. She shared even more when she became a mother-in-law to Mel, Amber, Tiffany, and Mike, all of whom she loved like her own children. And everyone who knew Cindi knew her grandchildren had a truly huge chunk of her heart set aside especially for them: Nate, Hannah, Taylor, Braden, Brooklynn, Barrett, Felicity, Adelyn, and Evelyn. She was Aunt Cindi to many nieces and nephews who got to feel the love through her amazing Thanksgiving dishes each year. And she didn't stop there-she shared her home with many pets throughout her life, including her beloved, spoiled pups Bruno and Hiro.
Cindi very much enjoyed her career as a child nutrition worker at Caesar Rodney School District for over 16 years. She loved to joke and laugh with co-workers, and her positivity was certainly infectious. She knew that a smile and a meal could make a huge difference to a child who might not get those things at home, and she was very proud to be able to help make that impact.
Cindi loved spending time with family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, listening to music of all kinds (especially Usher), and cheering on her Washington Redskins. She spent many summers with her kids and grandkids in the backyard & pool, just talking, relaxing, and grilling. She was truly the glue that held the family together-and her legacy will forever be the love and light that she exuded everywhere she went. She will forever be in our hearts.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Delaware SPCA.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Delaware; where friends may call starting at 4 p.m.
