MILFORD - Lucille Frances Peterman, of Milford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008. She was 99.
Mrs. Peterman was born Sept. 2, 1908, in Snow Hill, Md., daughter of the late DeWitt and Frances West.
She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, Philadelphia, before she met the love of her life, George Peterman. After her 12 children were born, she went to work at L.D. Caulk Co., Milford, retiring after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Peterman attended the Milford Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Peterman; and three sons, Robert Peterman, Douglas Peterman and Paul Peterman.
She is survived by five sons, Lloyd Peterman of Cape Coral, Fla., Donald Peterman, Joseph Peterman and Jack Peterman, all of Milford, and David Peterman of Camden; four daughters, Sara Guilford of Phoenix, Jean Wintgen of Milford, Frances Lavoie of Hudson, N.H., and Joyce McDowell of Milford; her grandson that she raised from the age of 4, Tim Peterman of Milford; 27 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Milford Church of the Nazarene, 11 N. Salevan Place, where friends may call after noon.
Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Milford Church of the Nazarene, c/o Treasurer Richard Davis, 11 N. Salevan Place, Milford, DE 19963.
