Louis A. Hendricks passed away on March 26, 2021 at home with his wife Adrienne.
Louis was born to H. Delores Hendricks and Louis Hendricks on July 13, 1961 in Lewes, Delaware.
He was one of the best wrestlers in the state of Delaware making him State Champion in 1979. Louis loved wrestling, that was one of his passions, everywhere he went someone would bring up wrestling and you knew it was gonna be a while before you got home.
Louis worked at Eagle Group for 20 years giving his all even when he was sick, he tried his best and did not want to give it up. He was a family man; he loved his grandchildren and was always on them about their education. He was also a good stepfather giving advice and telling them now it's up to you to do the right thing.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Lynn Ridgway; his sister, Cherelle; and his nephew, Monte.
Louis is survived by his wife of 18 years, Adrienne; his daughter, Helena (Gina); and three sons, Donald, Bradley and Richard; he is also survived by his 15 grandchildren; his brothers, Quintin and Faruq; and his sister, Junia Goldston (Micah); and he was very close to his cousin, Lena Phillips; and his family from Eagle Group which he loved. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret Daniels (Joan) who he loved and enjoyed just watching movies with him on the weekends and just talking. Also Mr. Samuel Mack who was more than a friend, he loved Mr. Mack very much and appreciated everything he had ever done for him.
He was a very kind man, he was a very good provider and never missed many days at work until he became sick, he would say, I am just like my Momma, gotta keep on working if I want anything in life.
Louis is going to be missed by many, most of all his wife he was such a good husband and provider. He helped raise three of his grandchildren, Billy, Nicky and Maddie and they loved Pop-Pop to death. Maddie was his girl and she sang to him the night he passed away, this touched his heart because he dropped a tear. May God Bless you Louis.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Friday evening. Interment will be at Immanuel Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cheswold.
