SEAFORD - Linda R. Russell of Seaford died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, in her home. She was 53.
Mrs. Russell was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science, where she was the Outstanding Woman Graduate. She was a graduate of the University of Delaware with a master"s degree in education.
She taught at Sussex Central Middle School from 1975 to 1977 and at Woodbridge Middle school from 1978 to 1980. She then taught in Talbot County, Md. schools.
Mrs. Russell"s hobbies included bowling, volleyball, walking and yard work.
Mrs. Russell was a member of the Seaford Jaycees from 1980 to 1990. Her real passion was the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she held the status of lifetime member and was the president since 2004 and had been president in 1987 and 1988. She also was Miss Slovenian National Benefit Society.
She is survived by a son, Jonathan Russell of Seaford; a daughter, Amy Russell of Seaford; her parents, Al and Mary Roginski of Ambridge, Pa.; a brother, Ed Roginski of Ambridge and Richard Roginski of Salt Lake City; and two sisters, Nancy Stassen of Indianapolis, and Kathy Casar of Winnipeg, Canada.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Blades.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 87, Seaford, DE 19973; or the Seaford Missions, 611 3rd St., Seaford, DE 19973.
