MILFORD - Lillie E. "Winkie" Helmick, 76, of Milford, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at home. Mrs. Helmick was the daughter of the late James E. and Lillie (Jewell) Peterson. She worked at Milford Stitching for many years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Milford and loved to bowl, bake and crochette. She also loved to sing and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Helmick; a son, Dale Helmick; and a grandson, William Tucker Jr.; and two sisters Sally Stratton and Florence Vernotico. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Tucker and her husband Fred; grandchildren, Dale Helmick Jr., Eric D. Evans, Amanda Evans, Carol Jones and Rebecca Carney; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Breeding. Funeral services were Monday, June 29, at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 662 Milford - Harrington Highway, Milford. Burial was in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. Arrangments by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
