Laura S. Mathis, 86

DOVER - Laura S. Mathis of Dover passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 86.

Mrs. Mathis was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Uswick, Pa., to the late Albert and Eva (Smith) Seidel.

She was a member of St. John"s Lutheran Church, Dover.

Mrs. Mathis was a homemaker. She also volunteered many hours at Luther Towers, Dover.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Seidel; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Laura LeBlanc.

Mrs. Mathis is survived by a son and his wife, Robert and Lisa Werkheiser of Little River, Ala.; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and LeRoy Jarman of Camden, and Susan and Gregory Payton of Dover; a sister, Frances Hubbell of Green, R.I.; her grandsons, Roy Jarman, Dale LeBlanc, Richard Jacobs and Robert Jacobs; five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John"s Lutheran Church, Dover, where friends may call from 1:30 p.m. A gathering of friends will follow at 3:30 at Luther Towers, 430 Kings Highway, Building 1, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be given to St. John"s Lutheran Church, 113 Lotus St., Dover, DE 19901.
