Laura Jay Gabbert, 71
DOVER - Laura Jay Gabbert passed away, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at home.
Mrs. Gabbert was born August 8, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Marvin Landau and Charlotte Rubenstein Landau.
She was a retail manager for Boscov's until she retired in 2006, and then became an educator and a small business owner until she fully retired in 2020. In addition, she was active in many religious, charitable, and political endeavors.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her sister, Vickie Donovan.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Gabbert of Dover; children, Michael Gabbert and his wife, Shoshannah Moyer-Gabbert; grandchildren, Emelia Gabbert-Payne, Terra Gabbert, and Selene Gabbert; and her beloved cat, Little Girl.
Graveside services will be held 1PM, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Road, Frederica, DE 19946.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
