Katherine E. Chick

GEORGETOWN - Katherine E. Chick passed away on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Katherine worked in accounting and office administration with Stockley Center in Millsboro for many years. Katherine was born in Speonk, N.Y. and resided on Long Island for many years until moving to Delaware. While in New York she was involved with Eastern Star. After moving to Delaware with her family, she became a member of Eastern Star Lodge #9 in Georgetown. She also attended Asbury U.M. Church.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Chick; a brother, Sonny Highland; and a sister, Lillian Highland.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Arthur Robert Chick; a daughter, Heidi Chick; her beloved dog, Bambi; a brother, Richard Nugent; a niece, Sheila Nugent; close friends, Quincy Risper, Martin Schmidt, Jr., Patricia Pims, William Horn, Sr., and wife Rosemary, and William Horn, Jr., and wife Kathleen; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947, with visitation after 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Disabled American Veterans, c/o Mr. Paul Lardizzone, 321 Macarthur Drive, Dover, DE 19901.
