DOVER - Joyce "Joy" VanDevander, 74, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was born on April 27, 1936, in Whitwell, England, to the late Richard and Grace Walkley Rimmington. Joy retired from J.C. Penney after many years; she was in cosmetic sales. She loved animals and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie VanDevander in 1983. She is survived by daughter and her husband, Lynn VanDevander Smith and her husband Greg Smith of Dover; son, David VanDevander of Texas; granddaughters, Jamie Barrett, and Taylor Smith; grandsons, Lonnie VanDevander; great-grandson, Quinten Roach; sisters, Jean Craft, and Audrey Douglas, both of England; and long-time companion, Otis King of Dover.
