Joyce A. Scott, 65

MIDDLETOWN - Joyce A. Scott peacefully joined the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at her residence in Middletown, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 65.

Born Sept. 9, 1942, in Edgewood, Md., she was the daughter of Florence "Minnie" Luthringer.

Joyce graduated from Bohemian Manor High School.

She was a Dutchmaid consultant for over 11 years. Joyce also worked for the state of Delaware for 10 years, serving as a bus aide for special needs children.

For the past 20 years, Joyce was a Longaberger consultant, through which she built an impressive branch and formed many amazing friendships. She earned numerous honors within the Longaberger Co. for high sales and recruitment, including the honor of joining the Million Dollar Club.

Joyce was an elder of Forest Presbyterian Church, an active member of the Middletown Women's Club and the MOT Senior Center, served on the Middletown Board of ACS and was a devoted participant in the Middletown Relay for Life.

Joyce inspired all those whom she touched. Her positive perspective was contagious and her love of family and friends was evident in everything she did.

She will join in heaven her brother, Frank; nephews, John and Wayne; and nieces, Donna and Tammy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Floyd "Buck" Scott Sr.; a son, Buck Scott Jr. and his wife Kendall; two daughters, Jean Lockwood and her husband Greg and Peggy Dawson and her husband Jerry; her most cherished treasures, Joshua, Matthew, Cecilia, Rebecca, Robert and Kate; her mother, Minnie Luthringer and her stepfather Gordon Luthringer; three brothers, Edward, Kenneth and Butch Reed; two sisters, Barbara Miller and Fran Biddle; two brothers-in-law, Earl and Terrance Scott; and many caring nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday.

Interment will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa.
