Joy (Reed) Benham, 91
MILFORD, Del. - Joy (Reed) Benham passed away at the Milford Center Nursing Home on February 27, 2022.
She was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on January 14, 1931 to Robert and Elsie (Johnson) Reed.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother who enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking and journaling her travels. Joy worked for many years as a secretary for the Morrisville Presbyterian Church and the Oyster Creek Power Plant in New Jersey. She was active in volunteering for food pantries, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser in North Carolina, and reading programs for children. Most recently she was a member of Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford, Delaware.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harry W. Benham Jr.; and her sister, Elaine Reed of Newton, Pennsylvania.
Joy is survived by her loving sons, Robert and wife Eva (Penny) Benham of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, David and wife Kathy Benham of Portland, Maine; four grandchildren, Kirsten and husband Lucas Keene of Washington D.C, Jason and wife Michele Benham of Feasterville, Pennsylvania, Erik and wife Nicole Benham of Kennebunk, Maine, Joshua Benham of Morrisville, Pennsylvania; and six great grandchildren.
No public service will be held.
Those who wish may make a donation in Joy's memory to the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 North Church Street, Milford, Delaware 19963.
