Joshua Emmanuel 'Josh' Dickerson, 22
SEAFORD - Joshua Emmanuel "Josh" Dickerson, of Seaford, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in Seaford. He was 22.
Josh was the son of James Dickerson and JoAnne Dredden.
He attended school in the Woodbridge School District, and he was a member of Refuge Temple Church in Seaford, where he was a former member of the children's choir.
Josh liked sports, mainly playing street basketball.
He also liked to tear apart and repair stereos, and above all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and family.
His girls were the joy of his life, and he loved to dedicate time and love to his mother and brothers.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Edna Dickerson; and his maternal grandfather, Hayward Dredden.
Josh's time on Earth was shorter than everyone would like, but precious memories of him will be shared by his mother, JoAnne Dredden (with whom he resided); his father, James "Buddy" Dickerson and his fiancée Tanya Hayes of Aberdeen, Md.; two daughters, Janiah and Aaliyah Dickerson of Laurel; three brothers, Jermaine "Jay" and James "BJ" Dickerson, both of Seaford, and Jordan Dickerson of Aberdeen, Md.; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Dredden of Seaford; his paternal grandfather, James "Jimmy" Dickerson of Milford; his step-father, Ernest Pickney; and his cousin, Takita Dredden of Blades (who was raised with him as a sister after the passing of her mother, his Aunt Peggy); three uncles, Robert "Bobby" and his wife Patsy Dredden of Griffin, Ga., Melvin Perry and his wife of New Jersey, and Anthony Dickerson of Harrington; four aunts, Darlene Dredden of Bridgeville, Estella "Tootsie" Carter of Austin, Texas, Janet Saleen and her husband Akia of Ellendale and Delores Perry of Dover; the mother of his children, Natashia Wescott; his special friend, Everly Brown; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Refuge Temple Church, Seaford, where Apostle Leon Williams is the Pastor.
Co-Pastor Ethel Williams officiated, and the Rev. Charles W. Smith Jr. delivered the eulogy.
Interment was in Concord Cemetery, Concord.
