Joseph R. Hudson
Joseph R. Hudson was born on November 12, 1930 and was raised in Harbeson, Del. He was one of 12 children born to Myrtle Veasey and Richard T. Hudson.
He graduated from Lewes, High School. At an early age, Joe had a passion for aviation. He worked at Rehoboth airport, where he learned to fly. As a young man, Joe farmed and grew vegetables for local canneries. He founded Joseph R. Hudson seeding and aerial fertilizing Co. and the Eagle Crest Aerodrome. Later, he started a new career in real estate as a land developer. As Joe's projects grew, he was very generous to his community. Joe was an active Rotarian his entire life. He served on many boards and committees. Joe received numerous honors and recognition for his donations to the community. He never forgot his roots and was a very humble and kind man. Joe was a man of courage, not afraid to take risks. He lived by the Golden Rule, "do unto others, as you would have them do unto you". On April 25, 2022, Joe returned to His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survived by his wife, Christine of 39 years; and his daughter, Susan Hudson. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jody and Craig Hudson; and daughter, Janel Hudson. Joe left behind cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren and many relatives that he held close to his heart, throughout the USA.
All formal services will be held privately. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Revelation Beer Garden on Hudson Fields on May 22, 2022.
The family suggests that those who would like to further honor Joe's memory consider a donation to a favorite charity in Joe's name.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, Delaware.
