Joseph Allen "Bossman" Smith Sr., 50

LINCOLN - Joseph Allen "Bossman" Smith Sr. of Lincoln died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 50.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 31, 1956, in Milford, son of the late James L. Sr. and Ethel (Emory) Smith.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge in 1977.

After 1977, he became quite an inventor.

Mr. Smith devoted his time to his family and friends. He loved watching football with his family, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed telling stories and making everyone laugh. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James L. Smith Jr.

He is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Joseph A. Jr. and Kristie R. Smith of Lincoln; a grandson, Joseph A. Smith III of Lincoln; a brother and a sister-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Teresa Smith of Lincoln; and a niece and nephew, both of Lincoln.

Burial will be private in Georgetown Veterans Cemetery.

Arrangements by Chandler Funeral Home, Wilmington.
