John W. Gallimore

MILLSBORO - John W. Gallimore, age 72, of Millsboro, passed away on Aug. 1, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Born on Dec. 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Burton W. and Emily R. Kent Gallimore. He was a true Sussex County family man devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an excellent craftsman who enjoyed creating things, and enjoyed being on Lewes Beach with his family. He was honest, hardworking, and trustworthy. What he said he would do, he would do, and always made sure his family always came first. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith E. Mears Gallimore; and two children, Renee Dobson, and her fiancé Gerald Wells, of Milton, and Eric Gallimore, and his companion Lorraine Lynch, of Fenwick Island. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Gallimore, and his wife Jean, and Terry Gallimore, and his wife, Chris, all of Kirkwood, Pa.; and a sister, Linda Haney, also of Kirkwood; and three grandchildren, Phillip Dobson, and his wife Tracey, Patrick Dobson, and his companion Stephanie Chudzik, and Hannah Gallimore; a special nephew, Ronnie Joseph, and his wife Anita. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends across the area. A Celebration of his life, and a Memorial Service will be held at Watson Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to the service to greet the family and pay respects. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society: 250 Williams St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303; or to the American Heart Association: 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
