John V. 'Jack' Clark, 83

MONROVIA, Md. - John V. "Jack" Clark of Monrovia, formerly of Milton, Del., died of Alzeheimer's disease Wednesday, June 11, 2008, in Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. He was 83.

Mr. Clark was born in Takoma Park, son of the late John A. and Arlene (West) Clark.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Clark was a technical writer for the Civil Service Naval Ordnance Lab in Silver Spring, retiring in 1978.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and refinishing furniture.

Mr. Clark was a member of the American Legion in Milton, and the Milton Lions Club. He also was a member of the Milton Fire Volunteer Department and a lifetime member of the Sandy Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Holton.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Clark; four children, John G. Clark of Shrewsbury, Pa., Kathy Drury of Monrovia, Susan Yeilding of Mukilteo, Wash., and Jode McLaughlin of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
