John T. Ritter, 91

LITITZ, Pa. - John T. Ritter of Lititz, formerly of Dover, Del., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Lancaster General Hospital. He was 91.

Mr. Ritter was born June 6, 1916, in Harrison, N.J., to the late Francis J. and Loretta C. Ritter.

He worked as an accountant for several automotive dealers.

He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, especially his beloved New York Yankees, for whom he was very passionate about.

Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Louise (Holt) Ritter.

He is survived by five sons, Donald T. Ritter of Albemarle, N.C., John D. Ritter of Scotia, N.Y., George D. Ritter of Mt. Holly, N.J., and Michael C. Ritter and Mark F. Ritter, both of Chadds Ford; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

George Ernest "Ernie" Pernol, 55

FARMINGTON - George Ernest "Ernie" Pernol of Farmington died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 55.

He was born March 13, 1952, in Dover, to the late George K. and Jeannette (Godwin) Pernol.

Mr. Pernol was a lifetime resident of the area.

He graduated from North Caroline High School in 1970.

Mr. Pernol is survived by his companion of 33 years, Wanda Venable of Farmington; a daughter, Melissa Pernol of Federalsburg, Md.; two brothers, Charles Irving Pernol Sr. of Greensboro, Md., and Paul Pernol of Hartly; one sister, Paula Ewell of Smyrna; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Greensboro Cemetery.
