John "Jack" Robert Baker, age 61, of Lincoln DE, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
He was born in Milford to William Charles Baker and Alice Virginia King Baker. He graduated from Milford High School in 1980. After graduation he went to work for Acme Markets where he worked faithfully until his retirement in 2023.
He met his wife Holly while working at Acme and the two married in 2011.
In his free time he loved working in his large vegetable garden, hunting, cooking, especially smoking or grilling a prime chunk of meat. On weekends you could find him watching NASCAR, college football or cheering on his favorite NFL team, the New York Giants.
He fell in love with music at a young age, and had the privilege of learning the drums and guitar from his favorite teacher Dr. Thompson "T".
Jack was preceded in death by his brother and best friend Lawrence "Larry" Baker.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Holly Mott Baker, a son, Michael (Anna) Baker of Salisbury MD, his 3 stepchildren, Candace Mott and Cortney Mott both of Dover, Casey Mott of Wilmington and a grandchild Kori Skyler, a sister Beverly (Leroy) Bowden and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown on Friday, September 27 at 1:00.
