MILFORD - John Collins, 82, of Milford, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born in Lanesville, W.Va. He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the Fort Dix, New Jersey Railroad. He was a member of the Milford Moose Lodge #2416. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Montalbano. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vada (Helmick) Collins; a son, John M. Collins and his wife Cate, of New Jersey; a daughter, Patricia Capron and her husband Walter of Rhode Island; four grandchildren; two brothers Roy Collins of Maryland and Glen Lawrence of Virginia; a sister, Martha Brust of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
