DOVER - John C. Zimmerman died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at his home. He was 80.
Mr. Zimmerman was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Jamesport, N.Y., to the late John and Sophie (Zultowski) Zimmerman.
He was a self-employed farmer and owner/operator truck driver, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Zimmerman operated M&M Seafood in Little Creek.
He enjoyed fishing, rides through Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge and visiting family and friend along Del. 9 in Kent County.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Gaab Zimmerman; a son, Steve Zimmerman of Dover; his daughters, Joan Hitchens and her husband David of North East, Md., and Kathy Zimmerman of Dover; his brothers, Frank and his wife Connie Zimmerman of Medford, N.Y., and Donald Zimmerman of Port Jefferson, N.Y.; a sister, Susie and her husband Joseph Kranski of Long Island, N.Y.; a grandson, Patrick A. Martin of Smyrna; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Burial and services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harvest Years Senior Center, 30 South St., Camden, DE 19934; or a charitable organization of choice.
