BRIDGEVILLE - John C. Hopkins III of Bridgeville, a Christian, devoted husband and father, entrepreneur and sailor, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007, in his home, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Mr. Hopkins was affiliated with various civic and Christian organizations over the years. He was one of the original group that brought Christian Radio WOLC to the Eastern Shore.
He founded Comfort Inc., a mechanical contracting business, that for 25 years served the entire Delmarva Peninsula.
Since his retirement, Mr. Hopkins was privileged to have enjoyed many years of cruising with his wife on their sailboat, "Morning Star," and it was his pleasure to have shared many of those times aboard with friends and relatives.
He leaves a loving wife of 50 years, Lou Ann; three sons and their wives, John M. and Dawn of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Point Verdra, Fla., Keller and Joann of Bridgeville, and Eaton and Rebecca of Malvern, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Dorothy Chaffinch and her husband Richard of Orlando; and a brother, Jack Parker and his wife Lorrie of Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union United Methodist Church, 2 Laws St., Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to WOLC, P.O. Box 130, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.
Logan Feather Marvel
ELLENDALE - Logan Feather Marvel, infant daughter of James R. and Staci L. (Donovan) Marvel, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
In addition to her parents, Logan is survived by her maternal grandparents, Linda B. Roger of Milford and Jeffrey Donovan and his wife Ellen, also of Milford; her paternal grandparents, Kenny and Laura Marvel of Houston; and a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services for Logan will be private.
Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
