Joan E. Thompson, 66

HARTLY - Joan E. Thompson, of Hartly, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 66. She was born on Oct. 5, 1942, in Chester, Md., to Charles and Mildred Marshall Anderson. She was a member of Willow Grove Church of God. Joan was a home maker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed driving the Amish to different places. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles M. Anderson and daughter, Kathy McGinnis. She is survived by her husband and would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on Dec. 8, Eugene B. Thompson of Hartly; sons, Paul McGinnis of Louisville, Ky., Pete Thompson of Cordova, Md., David McGinnis of Ridgley, Md., Charles McGinnis of Smyrna, and Brady Thompson of Hartly; mother, Mildred Morgan of Harrington; a dear friend, Roda Troyer of Dover; brother, Frank Morgan of Hartly; sisters, Julia Sonnenchien of California, Ann C. Anderson of, Md., and Shannon Sahan of Harrington; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Remembrance Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover. Friends may call Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
