LAKELAND, Fla. - Joan Alice Postle of Lakeland died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007. She was 72.
She was born Feb. 24, 1935, in Canastota, N.Y.
Ms. Postle graduated high school in Norwich, N.Y. in 1952.
She moved to Delaware in 1955 when her husband, Richard DeWitt Scouten, was stationed at Dover Air Force base, remaining in Dover after his discharge.
Ms. Postle worked for international Playtex, General Foods, and the state of Delaware, retiring from Delaware Technical & Community College's office of the president in 1987.
She then moved with her husband Woodrow "Woody" Postle Sr. to Lakeland Harbor in Lakeland.
Ms. Postle then worked for FMC technologies, Citrus Systems Division from 1988 until her retirement in 2002.
She was a member of the Lake Gibson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Lakeland.
She moved to Lakeland from Dover, Del. in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Postle Sr.; and her parents, Willis Benjamin Dale and Hazel Leone Dale.
She is survived by his son, Richard D. Scouten and his wife Christine of Camden, Del.; a brother, Daniel Dale and his wife Sandy of Lincoln, Del.; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Scouten.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday in Lanier Funeral Home, where services will begin at 7 p.m.
