Jaroslava Cerny, 95

DOVER - Jaroslava Cerny of Dover died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 95.

She was born in Kukleny, Czech Republic, on Sept. 4, 1911, daughter of the late Jaroslav and Frantiska (Pushova) Push.

Mrs. Cerny completed business college and worked as a paralegal until her marriage to Dr. Cerny. When the family moved to western Australia, she worked for the city of Freemantle in the accounting department. In 1955, she worked in the International Department of Burroughs in Detroit.

She devoted her time to her family and to her plants. She was an avid gardener. In 1971, she received a bachelor of science in agriculture from Western Michigan University.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jaroslav Cerny, in 2001.

She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Veronica Cerny and Dr. Eva Cerny, both of Dover; a son, Dr. Jaroslav of Boone, N.C.; her granddaughters, Rhoda, Natalie and Lorraine, all of Boone; and a sister, Vlasta Mrvova of Dvur Kralove, Czech Republic.

Following cremation, her ashes will be interred with her husband's in Trebechovice pod Orebem, Czech Republic.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
