DOVER - Jarold Dean Sims Sr. of Dover passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 45.

He was born June 3, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo., to Ted Ray and Connie Lee (Wimmar) Sims.

Mr. Sims was a security guard for Bennett Security. He worked the security booth at Dover High School and enjoyed greeting everyone coming in. He also worked security at the visitation center in Milford and Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Sims of Dover; a son, Jarold Dean Sims Jr. of Dover; a son, Joshua Andrew Sims of Dover; a daughter, Melissa Sims of Dover; a daughter, Theresa Snyder of Smyrna; a brother, Harold Secreast of Camden; a daughter, Karen Hastings of Felton; his father, Ted Ray Sims of Missouri; his mother, Connie Murphy of Missouri; his stepfather, Arnold Olsen of Camden; a grandson, Michael Snyder; a grandson, Jacob Snyder; a granddaughter, Tori Snyder; and a granddaughter, Makenzie Hudgins.

Remembrance services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trader Funeral Home, Dover.

Burial will be at the Milford Community Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, to help with funeral costs.
