Janie M. (Smith) Murphy, 87
BRIDGEVILLE - Janie M. (Smith) Murphy, of Bridgeville, died of natural causes Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, in the Milford Center, Milford. She was 87.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Seaford, daughter of the late William and Martha Smith.
She was a lifelong resident of Sussex County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Murphy Sr.; two sisters, Hazel Passwaters and Ella Mae Spicer; and four brothers, Charlie Smith, Clarence Smith, George Smith and Raymond Smith.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Carolyn Smith of Bridgeville, and Clarence W. Jr. and Mary Smith of Milford; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville.
Services will 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel. Pastor Homer Keene will officiate.
