ELKTON, Md. - James Francis Waller of Elkton, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in SunBridge Care and Rehab for Elkton, in Elkton. He was 74.
Mr. Waller was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Warren, Pa., son of the late Francis J. and Evelyn G. (Offerle) Waller.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was formerly employed as a recreation specialist in Floral Park, N.Y. He also had worked for the Devereux Foundation in Paoli, Pa.
Mr. Waller and his wife were foster parents to children for 25 years in New York and Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew J. Waller, in October 1994; and a brother, Joseph J. Waller, in November 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Donna T. (Van Velsor) Waller of Lewes, Del.; two daughters, Evelyn T. Waller of Newark, Del., and Donác M. and Michael Hill of Mechanicsville, Va.; a son, Kevin M. Waller of Newark; a sister, Joyce Waller of Hampton Bay, N.Y.; and a brother and a sister-in-law, William A. and Lucille Waller of Murrells Inlet, S.C.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Del. 1 north of Five Points, Lewes.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.
