James E. Kwasnieski Sr., 61

BOWERS BEACH - James E. Kwasnieski Sr., of Bowers Beach, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Wilmington Hospital. He was 61.

Mr. Kwasnieski was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Greenport, N.Y., to the late Edward and Marian Kwasnieski.

He was a graduate of Middletown High School, where he played football.

Mr. Kwasnieski worked as a car salesman for many years and received many awards for his service.

His love of the water prompted him to start a crabbing business in Bowers Beach.

He loved the Delaware Bay and often spoke of his passion for it. Mr. Kwasnieski also loved the town of Bowers Beach and its people.

He was a gifted artist and would often draw or paint pictures and greeting cards for family and friends.

He is survived by a son, James Jr. of Magnolia; a daughter, Karen McTaggart of Dover; a sister, Connie Mattia of Maryland; a brother, Ronald Kwasnieski of Middletown; two half-sisters, Joan Syther of New Milford, Conn., and Doris Syther of Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Interment will be private.

Contributions in Mr. Kwasnieski's name may be made to the House of Pride, c/o Marion Harris, 105 S. New St., Dover, DE 19904.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
