Frederica - James E. Holley died Sunday, January 18, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Known affectionately by his family as Jimmy, he was born in Arnett, WV to the late Thomas and Tennis Dickens Holley. At a young age, Jimmy experienced an illness that lead to lifelong intellectual disabilities. However, he and his family did not allow this to hinder him from enjoying his life. He enjoyed watching old Western movies on his big screen TV, especially John Wayne movies. He loved guns and would spend hours looking at gun magazines and books to pass his time. He was a true cowboy and would wear his gun and holster at all times, always on the ready for any passerby's. Jimmy was well loved by his nephews and nieces who enjoyed his cowboy antics and games. Another past time he enjoyed was riding in the car and on the bus to his school at Easter Seals Disability Services in Dover and Georgetown. James was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ron Taylor; and sister, Tommie Williams. He is survived by his four siblings, Peggy Pettry of Danville, W.V., Norma Kemper of Frederica, whom cared for him after their mother's passing, Cheryl Wingo (Mike) of Felton, and Ron Taylor (Kathy) of Cross Lanes, W.V.; 10 nieces; and 10 nephews; and numerous great-grand nieces and nephews. James touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00 for a viewing. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Christiana Care Nursing, 2116 S. DuPont Highway Suite 2, Camden, DE 19934.
