Born in Everett, Pa., the son of an engine tech rep for Pratt Whitney, he lived in over 40 of the lower 48 states in the continental US. He worked in the aircraft industry and met his wife of nearly 55 years while working for Air Mod at Dover AFB as a civilian employee. After his retirement from computer programming, he kept busy working for Shooters Choice and Manlove Auto Parts before completely retiring in 2006. Before declining health slowed him down, he enjoyed hunting, shooting and reloading, and camping with his family. He was an avid reader that would often enjoy a book, cover to cover, in a day. As a dog lover, he raised many dogs throughout the years and leaves behind his Jack Russell named Sugar and a Chihuahua named Feisty. He is survived by his wife, Joan; four sons, James Jr. and his wife Terry of Milford, Ted of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Craig and his wife Kasia of Townsend, Del. and Mike of Milford; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister; and several extended family members.
