Jacob Strahle, 80

MILFORD - Jacob Strahle, of Milford, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford. He was 80. Jacob was born in Milford, son of the late Karl and Elizabeth (Studte) Strahle. Jacob was a farmer and board member at Southern States. He also served in the National Guard. Jacob enjoyed sports and was an avid horseshoe and table tennis player. He was also a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Jones) Strahle; a daughter, Connie Strahle Rickards; two sisters, Theresa Everson and Barbara Marvel and husband Jerry; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
