Jackie Lee Protonentis

Clarksville, Tenn. - Jackie Lee Protonentis passed away Fri., Apr. 3, 2015. Jackie was born Oct. 18, 1945 in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Jack and Virginia McLaughlin. She was a graduate of California Area High School class of 1964. She also attended California University of Pennsylvania graduating in 1969. In 1971, Jackie married the love of her life, Steve Protonentis, where they made a home together in Delaware until his passing in 2008. At that time she and her eldest son, Eric moved to Tenn. to be closer to her grandchildren, Paige, Danze, Elizabeth, and Steve and her youngest son, Dirk and his wife, Ellen. Jackie was a retired delivery person for the Delaware State News, and former school teacher in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Jackie loved books and was rarely seen without one. She loved conversation and would strike up one with anyone at any time. Jackie is survived by her sons, Eric and Dirk Protonentis and his wife, Ellen; grandchildren, Paige, Danze, Elizabeth, and Steve Protonentis; sisters, Robin Flaherty and Sarah and her husband, Carl Motsko; brother, Jack and his wife, Anne McLaughlin; one niece; and three nephews; and numerous friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Fri., Apr. 17, 2015 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE. 19934. Friends may call one hour prior. Committal Services will be private and held at a later date. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
