Ivan Francis Quillen, 91
HARRINGTON - Ivan Francis Quillen passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Country Rest Home, Greenwood with his wife by his side. He is the son of the late Robert Harry and Cora Marie Quillen.
Ivan Francis was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. After his time in the service, he drove his father's horses, and worked in the lumber and piling business with his dad. He then worked for 23 years at Kraft/General Foods in Research and Development, retiring in 1987. Ivan Francis was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church where he formerly served on the church vestry. He was also a member of Milford's Temple Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A.M, and Harrington American Legion CKRT Post 7. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Known to be a prankster who enjoyed teasing people and having a good time, you could say that his personality was off the charts. He was the best husband that anyone could ever wish for, and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry D. Quillen, H. Hayward Quillen, Rep. George Robert "Bobby" Quillen; and sister, Grace Wanda Quillen.
He is survived his loving wife of 64 years, Joan E. Quillen; and brother, Frank F. Quillen.
Funeral Services will be held privately at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home Inc., Harrington, Del. Please visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to sign the online condolence book.
