LAUREL - Howard L. Johnson Sr. of Laurel died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
Mr. Johnson was born in Blades, son of the late Perry and Deborah Carmean Johnson.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital, Laurel.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Christ Evangelistic Church, Laurel.
He was preceded in death by a son, Howard L. Johnson Jr.; a son-in-law, Leon Carmean; and two brothers, Perry Johnson and Ira Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, June Marie Johnson; five daughters, Linda Johnson and Debbie Carmean, both of Seaford, Mary Ellen and James Cecil of Florida, Florence and Edward L. Huffman of Laurel and Dawn Johnson of Georgetown; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Johnson of Bridgeville; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. today in Hannigan-Short-Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call an hour and one half earlier. The Rev. Roland Tice will officiate.
