FRANKFORD - Hilton Spence, 74, of Frankford, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. Born in Newark, Md., he was the son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Adkins) Spence. He retired as a technician for Cargill Industries, formerly Townsend Poultry in Millsboro after twenty three years. He was also formerly employed with Truitt's Small Engine Repair of Frankford, Coles Small Engine Repair of Georgetown and Vickers Sand and Gravel in Dagsboro. He also repaired lawn mowers in the Maryland and Delaware area. His survivors include 11 children, Penelope Spence of New York, Robert (Sherrie) Baines of Temperanceville, Va., Leo Spence of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Dale and Lucinda Spence of Dagsboro, Antonio (Brenda) Spence, Patricia (Rufus) Jones, Patience Spence, all of Millsboro, Judy (Terry) Harmon of Frankford, Matthew (Carolyn) Spence Jr. of Seaford, and Audrey Spence of Bridgeville; four stepchildren, John Evans of Selbyville, Sandra (Sylvester) Thomas of Dover, Patricia (Ricky) Sturgis of Dagsboro, and Rose (Calvin) Drummond of Millsboro; 31 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette White of Millsboro and Mildred Spence of Salisbury; two aunts, Luvenia Spence and Molly Timmons, both of Newark, Md.; a devoted companion of 12 years, Regina Kellam of Ocean Pines, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews. A son, Kim Spence, two sisters and seven brothers preceded him in death. A funeral service will be held noon, Aug. 7, 2010, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Berlin, Md., where friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
