Herbert J. Hartnett

WYOMING - Herbert J. Hartnett passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at the family home surrounded by his loving family after a long fight with Alzheimers. He was born on Dec. 11, 1934 to the late John R. Hartnett, Sr. and Margaret A. Hartnett.
Herbert served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He was the successful owner of Hartnett Contracting for over 50 years and a skilled farmer for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles E., John F., John R. Jr., and Leo S.; his son, Franklin J. Hartnett; and his beloved pet, Brown Dog.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeannette M. Hartnett; five children, Patrick J. (Cindy), Fred (Kathy), Nancy George (Wayne), Christine Crothers (Jim) and Regina Meisinger (Roy); 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior, 1120 G Street, NW, Milford, DE 19963; Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd., Milford, DE 19963; or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
