DOVER - Helen R. Posley of Dover died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, in Broadmeadow Healthcare, Middletown. She was 76.

Helen was born July 13, 1930, in McCormick, S.C., daughter of the late George Thomas and Sallie Elizabeth (Cato) Radden. She was the eleventh sibling in a family of fourteen.

After moving to Greenville County, she, along with the rest of her family, united with Enoree Fork Baptist Church. Later, Helen united with Union Baptist Church. In 1979, she united with Open Heart Baptist Church where she served as president of WMU Missionary Organization, a Sunday school teacher for median adults, a member of the senior choir and assistant teacher for vacation Bible school.

Helen was educated in the Greenville County public school system and La Mattsa School of Cosmetology. She owned and operated Helen's Beauty Salon and was employed in the Greenville Hospital System for 40 years. At the time of her retirement, she was a ward secretary and monitor technician.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mae Helen Posley; and five brothers, the Rev. Willie T. Radden, the Rev. James C. Radden, the Rev. Joseph N. Radden, the Rev. Floyd Radden and Timothy Radden.

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Gwendolyn Chappelle of Suitland, Md.; four sons, Casper Jule (Jacqueline) Posley of Dover, Dale Anthony (Sheila) Posley of Greenville, S.C., Michael Aaron (Gloria) Posley of Dudley, N.C., and Karl Joseph (Brigette) Posley of Munich, Germany; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters, Amie R. Nelson of Taylors, S.C., Martha R. Wyche of Hyattsville, Md., Pearl V. Taylor of Dorchester, Mass., the Rev. Ruth Williams of Homewood, Ill., Lottie Bell R. Hampton of Greenville and Marie R. Epps of Dorchester; one stepsister, Dorothy (Robert) Hollis of Columbia; two stepbrothers, Charles E. Fowler of Charlotte, N.C., and Clarence Fowler of Maryland; two brothers, Eddie L. (Bobbie) Radden of Lawnside, N.J., and William G. (the Rev. Eartha) Radden of Columbia; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins; and two special friends, Louise Shaw and Lillie M. Livingston.

Services and burial will be in Greenville, S.C.

Local arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
