Helen Meluney Russell, 77

FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Helen Meluney Russell of Federalsburg passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was 77.

Mrs. Russell was born on Nov. 10, 1929, in Seaford, Del., the daughter of the late William E. Meluney and Effie Johnson Meluney.

She attended school in Seaford.

Mrs. Russell will be remembered as a full-time housewife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Meluney and Francis Meluney; and a sister, Grace Trivits.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph C. Russell who she married Sept. 24, 1949; a son and a daughter-in-law, Greg and Julie Russell of Federalsburg; a daughter, Susan Russell of Easton and her companion, Brian Higdon of Centreville; three grandchildren, Megan Russell, Gregory Russell and Amber Russell, all of Federalsburg; two sisters, Hester White of Seaford and Mary Swetland of Camden, Del.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. David Heistand will officiate.

Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery, Federalsburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Swetland, David Swetland, Richard Breeding, Billy Meluney, Wayne Meluney and Scott Milligan.

Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Breeding.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Suite, 219 S. Washington St., Easton, MD 21601.
