Hazel Silcox Moffitt

LEIPSIC - Hazel Silcox Moffitt of Leipsic, Del., passed away suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del. She was 89. Mrs. Moffitt was born June 8, 1921 in Dover, the daughter of the late Louis Silcox and Margaret Frazier Silcox. She retired after over 30 years of service as a Clerk at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Dover. Mrs. Moffitt was a lifetime member and past president of the Leipsic Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel T. Moffitt; and a son, Milton Moffitt. She is survived by her son, Bruce H. Moffitt and his wife Ellen Anne of Smyrna, Del.; a grandson, Michael Moffitt of Smyrna; a granddaughter, Michele Botsch and her husband Roger of Smyrna; two great-granddaughters, Chelsea and Sydney Botsch, both of Smyrna; two special friends, Margie Fox and Emma Lawrence, both of Leipsic. Viewing services for family and friends will be held on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 from 1;00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Faries Funeral Chapel located on 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover following the services. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
