MILLSBORO - Harold Ray "Radar" Owens, of Millsboro, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at home. He was 52. Mr. Owens was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Idabel, Okla., to the late James and Gaynel Owens. He worked on and off for 25 years at Harmon's Body Shop in Millsboro. Mr. Owens had moved back to Salem County, N.J., for 17 years also working in the body shop industry. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, motorcycles, country music and classic rock and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Avis in 2006. He is survived by his sons, Buddy Avis and his wife Karen of Alloway, N.J., Andy Avis of Woodstown, N.J., Tim Owens and his wife Teri of Little Creek; his daughters, Sandra Gannon and her husband James of Pennsville, N.J., Ashley Turner and her husband Matthew of Elmer, N.J.; grandchildren, Timmy, Jenna, Andy, Casey, Katelynn, Cody, Lainey and Savannah; by close friend, Linda Andlers of Millsboro, the mother of Timothy and Sandra, Barbara Smith (Carroll) of Dover. Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Funds for Children's Health, the Shands House c/o A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
