Hampton Hubert Trigg

DOVER - Hampton Hubert Trigg peacefully departed us on Sept. 9, 2016, surrounded by his family at Kent General Hospital, following a short illness. Born June 3, 1936 to the late Alma and Richard Webb in Bluefield, Va., Hubert, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a devoted husband and father who loved fishing and spending time with his beloved dog "Sunny." He and the love of his life, Vivian Baker Trigg, celebrated 58-years of marriage on Sept. 6, 2016. A resident of the Town Point neighborhood in Dover for nearly 40-years, Trigg retired from the United States Air Force in 1975 as a Master Sergeant after 20-years working mostly in accounting and serving in the Vietnam War, for which he received a host of merits and awards for his service to our country. After retiring from the military, Trigg went on to work for the State of Delaware as a state auditor for several years before retiring. He Studied accounting at Wright State College and Delaware State college. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou; and infant grandson, Hampton, III. Aside from his wife, Vivian; Trigg is survived by his son and daughter, Hampton Hubert Trigg, II, and Cathleen Trigg-Jones, and their spouses, Tangie Trigg and Dr. Michael Jones. He was a loving grandfather to Britney, Charles, Michael, Elizabeth, Marcus, Christian, Olivia and Amaiha. He is also survived by four brothers, Richard, Malcolm, King David and Donald Webb, their spouses, Marion and Michaela, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Home going services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Queen and Fulton Streets in Dover on Sept. 17, 2016, beginning with a viewing at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Trigg will be honored with a veteran's burial at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Dover directly following the service. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Professional services entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
