Grover H. Hicks, 66

DOVER - Grover H. Hicks, of Dover, passed away at home on Saturday, May 3, 2008. He was 66.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1942, in Covington, Va., son of the late Herman and Reba (Burgess) HIcks and was raised by Hazel Dunbar Hicks.

Grover was a graduate of National Business College in Roanoke, Va., and also Ferrum College in Virginia.

He had worked for West Vaco Co. of Newark as a machine operator with 38 years of service.

Grover was a member of the Moose Lodge in Covington for 31 years and a member of the Granberry Methodist Church in Covington where he also was a member of the choir and also played basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Garrett) Hicks; a daughter, Reba Redmond of Nottingham, Pa.; a brother, Garnet Arrington of Roanoke; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday in the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934.
