BOTHELL, Wash. - Granville H. Shirley of Bothell, born May 22, 1910, in Cumberland, Md., departed this life Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Bothell. He was 97.
Mr. Shirley served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later worked for the State of Delaware Transportation Department.
In 1987, he moved from Delaware to Sacramento, Calif., and stayed there until moving to Washington state this past April.
Mr. Shirley enjoyed reading, classical music and golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Annie Kairupan of Sacramento; his grandchildren, Alfred Goni, Anita Goni and Silvana Goni; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Benita Shirley.
The funeral service will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036, 425-672-1800.
Mr. Shirley will be interred at Christ Church Cemetery in Dover, Del.
