DOVER - Graeme Doughty passed away peacefully in his home, on Sunday, December 27, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Graeme was born February 26, 1938 in Fielding, New Zealand to the late, Chap and Barbara (Pendelton) Doughty. He served in the New Zealand Army, and had worked most of his life in the swimming pool business. He was a founding member of the New Zealand Swimming Pool Association, and enjoyed boating, sailing, flying small planes, and collecting G-Scale Model Trains. He would tinker with anything and was quite a craftsman.
Graeme is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cecilia (McKenna) Doughty; two sons, Michael Doughty of Dover, and Chris Doughty, of Macon, Georgia; his siblings, Ross Doughty, of Auckland, New Zealand, Valerie Doughty, of Canada and Beverly Pratt, of Wellington, New Zealand; and two grandchildren, Max Doughty, of Boston and Greer Doughty, of Auckland.
Viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021, in Pippin Funeral home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Del.; adhering to the current Covid-19 restrictions of mask wearing, social distancing, and 50 people maximum at a time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 noon, Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 South State St., Dover, Del. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Del.
