Glenn Nicholas Bender

CANTON, Ga. - Glenn Nicholas Bender, formerly of Dover, passed away Friday, July, 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. His wife Janet was at his side. He was born March 6, 1956, in Pasadena, Texas; son of Glenn and Brenda Bender. He was a 1974 graduate of Dover Air Force Base High School and worked for Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems for 28 years, retiring in 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn R. Bender; his mother-in-law, Arlene Whittaker; and several aunts; uncles; and a cousin. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet Bender; his mother, Brenda Bender of Camden; three sisters, Joanne and David Gladden of Camden; Robin and Jack Lawrence of Camden; and Laurie and Dennis Facius of Eldersburg, Md.; brother-in-law, George and Jolene Whittaker, sisters-in-law, Donna and Stan Curtis, and Cheri Whittaker and Tim Duffy, all of Georgia; an uncle, Gale Bender, of Madison, Wisc.; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins. Glenn enjoyed golfing, traveling, and dining with friends, and he was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Memorial services were held July 26, 2016, at Macedonia Funeral Home in Canton, Ga.
