Gladys E. Donovan

MILTON - Gladys E. Donovan passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Gladys was born in Greensboro, Md., the daughter of the late Bates and Elsie Mae (Carroll) Baker. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, reading, embroidery work, flowers and traveling. She was a member of Zion U.M. Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She volunteered for Delaware Hospice and was a member of the Farm Bureau Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Russell E. Donovan; four daughters, Nancy O'Bier and her husband Donald of Seaford, Joan Sharp and her husband William of Milton, Bonnie Walstead of Milton and Cheryl Donovan-Witoski of Milford; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012, Zion U.M. Church, Broadkill Road, Milton, DE, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be held at the Zion Church Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.
