MILFORD - Frances Irene Yourgal of Milford died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in the Milford Center, Genesis Eldercare. She was 79.

Mrs. Yourgal was born in Milford on April 14, 1928, daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Wroten) Griffith.

She was a seamstress for several years, working at such locations as Coopersmith"s in Milford, Milford Stitching, Ann G&G in Dover and Lincoln, and at Delair Inc. in Milford.

Mrs. Yourgal was a working woman, but in the free time she had, she loved to crochet. She was known throughout the community for the afghans that she would crochet for everyone. She also loved to dance, especially the Jitterbug.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the Women"s Auxiliary of the Milford Veterans of Foreign Wars, Blue Hen Post 6483, and also enjoyed going to the Milford Senior Center.

Mrs. Yourgal was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Yourgal, in 1985; two brothers, Nelson Griffith and Joseph Griffith; and four sisters, Mildred Palmer, Genevieve Davis, Jeanette Betts and Hazel Roberts.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonita A. Gillespie and her husband Leroy of Ellendale and Constance Reneé Eguia of Arkansas; a sister, Betty Lou Williams of Milford; four grandchildren, Tonya Kilroy of Maryland, Elizabeth Tisher of Arkansas, Casey Scott of Milton and Liette Gillespie of Ellendale; and four great-grandchildren, Jack and Ryan Tisher, Zoe Scott and George J. Kilroy V.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Del. 1, near Milton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Frances" memory to The Milford Center, Genesis Eldercare, East Wing, 700 Marvel Road, Milford, DE 19963.
