Frances B. Roberts, 73
MIDDLETOWN - Frances B. Roberts of Middletown passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark, with her loving family by her side. She was 73.
Born in Elizabethton, Tenn., on Nov. 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rebecca (Wilcox) Brummitt.
Mrs. Roberts was a loving mother who took great pride in her family.
For many years, she worked at her sister"s restaurant in Middletown. She and her husband owned and operated the Middletown newspaper stand for a number of years, which they sold in 1976.
Mrs. Roberts was a lady with a big heart, who enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, and especially looked forward to family gatherings and picnics.
Every Sunday she enjoyed attending church.
The world will be a much sadder place without her, but her loved ones are comforted in knowing that Heaven has received an angel.
She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church, Newark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Mack Roberts, on Oct. 9, 1990; a granddaughter, Sheree Kimble; two sisters, Martha Allen, and most recently, Beatrice "Bea" Roberts, on July 3, 2007; and a brother, George Brummitt.
She is survived by six loving children, who were blessed to have such special mother, and their spouses, Archie D. and Sharon Brummit of Townsend, Joyce L. and Jim Kimble of Townsend, Kathy L. and Donald Smith of Middletown, Jannie M. and Jimmy Nichols of Townsend, Karen J. Brummitt of Elkton, Md., and Sharon and Herman Kline of Middletown; two sisters, Billie Hamby of Middletown, and Lorene Hamby of Smyrna; one brother, Kenneth Brummit of Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Monday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mrs. Roberts" memory to Glasgow Baptist Church, 3021 Old County Road, Newark, DE 19702.
