DOVER - Forrest V. Withrow passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Withrow was born Dec. 27, 1926, in St. Albans, W.Va., to the late Samuel Edward Withrow and Luvena Goodwin Withrow. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII and Korea, and retired in 1966 as S.Sgt. after 20 years of active duty. After his military retirement he worked Civil Service at Dover A.F.B. in Base Supply for another 20 years. He was a Scout Master for over 15 years and was an active leader when his sons were growing up. Mr. Withrow was a member of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2. He volunteered at Dover A.F.B. Medical Records Department and 15 years at the Dover A.F.B. fitness center. Mr. Withrow enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, and being outside tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He was also a serious Philadelphia Eagles fan. Mr. Withrow loved people and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, Mr. Withrow was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; sons, David and Daniel; and grandson, Ian. He is survived by his sons, Michael D. Withrow and his wife, Suzanne, of Felton, Patrick J. Withrow, of Dover; daughter, Karen Hebert and husband, Gary, of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Joshua Withrow and his wife, Brandi, Bryan Withrow and his wife, Kelly, Matthew Carter, Cody Withrow and his wife, Lindsey, Jessica Withrow, Katherine Withrow, Nicole Withrow and Owen Withrow; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kimberly, Sophia, and Cameron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park at 3 p.m. with military honors. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
